JUST ANNOUNCED: THAILAND RETREAT SERIES
I want to invite you to join me for a special series of retreats. They will be held in the amazing country of Thailand. I will be teaming up with the founder of Finding Joy, Napatra Charassuvichakanich. Joy, as she prefers to be called--thankfully!, is a native of Thailand and is one of the most alive, heart-centered, intelligent, and compassionate people I've ever met. She lights up the room when she enters.
For over a decade, I have been asked to conduct retreats in Thailand. I have made several attempts to do so but for various reasons they always broken down. When I learned of Joy's new company and that she was planning to offer retreats I immediately asked if we could team up for them. Thankfully, she responded in the affirmative, dates were promptly set, locations chosen, and contracts signed. She is a woman of action!
While I am not certain why many Thai locals have asked me to conduct retreats I do know why I have always wanted to. My reasons have mostly been selfish. I love the Thai people. The opportunity to spend several days with them in the context of a healing retreat is about the best thing I can imagine. While I am a Christian I must admit there is something very special about Thai Buddhism and the culture of Thailand. They have the best smiles in the world, are generous, and are always looking for ways to improve--always!
I don't know much about the locations for the retreats, other than Joy is excited about them and that is enough for me. Each retreat will center on a specific theme. The first one focuses on developing a "sound body," the second a "clear mind," and the third an "open heart." As many of you know, these follow our Phases of Healing which aim to produce individuals who "live joyfully," "connect lastingly," and "contribute uniquely."
Each retreat, while part of a series, is "stand alone." Feel free to drop in for only one, or more as your schedule and budget allow.
A common theme in the retreats will be to enhance each attendees capacity to achieve their personal goals. Just as importantly, how to achieve those goals not at the expense but actually for the benefit of those who mean the most to them. Too often our personal health, developing wealth, and cultivating social, romantic, and family bonds can seem competitive or mutually exclusive. Joy and I will reveal a roadmap where they actually work synergistically.
But knowing about a roadmap does not mean we are ready to navigate it. After all, we conduct the vehicle. Therefore, personal healing and transformation will also be a continuous theme. Increasing the likelihood that each participant will be free to confidently and effectively travel its byways and highways.
At the end of 2003 I realized my professional life had been stagnant for nearly 10 years. Going nowhere and I couldn't explain it. I was healthy, had financial resources, I was smart, I had the support of good people, yet no movement. I felt like a nail was driven through my left foot, pinning me to a small radius of achievement. I finally admitted I was the problem. Something in me was sabotaging. An appointment with a seasoned life coach was set, I sat before him and said, "I'm stuck and I know that I am the problem. I'd like to hire you to get me out of my own way." Once his gleeful laugh stopped, he gave me an astute description of my issues. It was immediately obvious he was right. The cure he outlined rang true to me as well. He offered his services and unwavering support.
Not only was our time together effective for me personally, but I took it a step further and studied with him for 10 years. I also studied his influences and the works of many others in the field of human achievement and psychology. In these retreats, alongside Joy sharing her own insights and experiences, I will reveal what my studies and what my life has taught me. Furthermore, I will work directly with most or all of the participants, offering my personal healing skills. All towards supporting each participant in "getting out of their own way" too!
